It all started here.

The Gubbio Project seeks to create a safe place for our homeless neighbors who find refuge in our Church. The goals of The Gubbio Project are to provide a clean, beautiful, quiet, and safe space for people to rest during the day and cultivate a sense of community among the homeless and a sense of understanding and shared responsibility in the broader community.

Current needs: Hospitality Monitor

The VSC West member would work as a Hospitality Monitor at The Gubbio Project at St. Boniface Church and Gubbio at St. John the Evangelist. This would involve working directly with fellow Hospitality Monitors and interns, with oversight by the Program Manager and Site Coordinator. The VSC West member would also spend time working in the office of the Executive Director.

We are a small organization, and the volunteer would be involved in every aspect of our work and service. Education through experience is central to our mission.

Ideal for: Under the supervision and mentoring of the Executive Director and serving alongside with the staff of The Gubbio Project, the VSC West member will be enriched personally and professionally. The VSC West member will leave Gubbio with a depth of knowledge about all aspects of our work (homelessness, solidarity, accompaniment, outreach, social justice, and more. The staff engage in formal trainings at least once a month. For a full description, click here.
